Marketplace Rules

To keep MyIsopods.com a safe, reliable, and high-quality marketplace for isopod enthusiasts, breeders, and buyers, we enforce the following rules. These rules ensure a consistent experience and are required in addition to our Terms of Service. Violations may result in listing removals, suspensions, permanent bans, or other actions.

Last updated: May 18, 2025
These rules may be updated without notice. However, reasonable consideration will be given to users impacted by any changes.

Section 1: Identity and Vendor Accounts

1.1 Vendors may only have one seller account per individual or business. If multiple people help manage a shop, they must all use the same account.

1.2 A single business cannot create multiple shops. If you need access restored to a past account or want to transfer store ownership, contact support.

1.3 Store Owners must provide real first and last names in their vendor profile. To verify your profile, we request an ID for verification.

1.4 Suspended or banned users are not allowed to create new accounts under any name, email, or IP. Attempting to bypass account restrictions will result in immediate termination.

1.5 Vendors may not post or manage listings for users who have been banned or suspended.

Section 2: Communication

2.1 All vendor communication must remain respectful and professional. No abuse, threats, bullying, or offensive language.

2.2 Vendors must respond to inquiries in a timely manner.

2.3 If buyers send spammy or low-effort inquiries, you’re still expected to be courteous. Use system options instead of reacting negatively.

2.4 Vendors must not require buyers to contact them outside of MyIsopods.com for initial communication. Direct messages outside the platform are allowed only after an inquiry has been made.

2.5 Do not use the messaging to solicit donations, sell unrelated products, or promote outside sites or platforms.

Section 3: Listings & Products

3.1 Product listings must be accurate. You’re responsible for honest descriptions, images, and availability.

3.2 Variants (size, count, quantity) must be clearly labeled and correct.

3.3 Sellers may only list products they own or physically possess. Drop shipping or third-party sales are not allowed without approval.

3.4 Photos must be of the exact item being sold unless clearly marked as a sample or example photo. Example images can only be used once per active listing and must be clearly labeled.

3.5 Sick, infested, or dying animals (isopods, springtails, etc.) may not be sold. Any animal with known defects or injuries must be marked as “Pet Only.”

3.6 Do not list products with misleading prices, such as using a fake low price just to attract attention.

3.7 Each listing may only represent one specific product or group. You may not advertise multiple unrelated items in a single listing.

3.8 Listings must be kept up-to-date. Mark items “Sold” or “On Hold” as needed to prevent confusion.

3.9 All listing descriptions and store fields must stay on-topic. No links to outside sites or contact info in listing text.

3.10 You are not allowed to sell on behalf of other vendors or promote their items in your listings.

Section 4: Media

4.1 All product listings must include at least one original photo of the actual item. Exception: clearly labeled stock images for food or dry goods.

4.2 Do not use other people’s photos or videos unless you have explicit written permission and can prove it.

4.3 Photos may include your watermark, but the focus must be the product.

4.4 No feeder animal images, graphic content, or unprofessional visuals.

4.5 We reserve the right to remove low-quality or misleading media.

Section 5: Shipping

5.1 Vendors must use responsible, legal, and safe shipping practices. All shipments must follow federal, state, and local laws.

5.2 Live animals (isopods, springtails, etc.) should only be shipped Monday–Wednesday to avoid weekend delays.

5.3 Vendors are responsible for damage caused by improper packing, poor weather decisions, or non-compliant shipping methods.

5.4 Vendors must clearly communicate tracking, shipping timelines, and delivery expectations in their store policy.

5.5 Repeated issues with DOAs (dead on arrival), lost packages, or shipping delays may result in temporary or permanent account suspension.

Section 6: Privacy

6.1 Buyer data accessed through your vendor dashboard or order details is to be used only for order fulfillment.

6.2 Sharing, selling, or misusing buyer data will result in a permanent ban.

Section 7: Ethics

7.1 Vendors must uphold ethical business practices. This includes honesty in sales, clear communication, and fair issue resolution.

7.2 Vendors must clearly post store policies covering refunds, returns, shipping timelines, and DOA procedures.

7.3 Buyers should be treated with respect and professionalism, even in disputes.

7.4 Repeated negative buyer reports, refund disputes, or ethical complaints may result in moderation, warnings, or account termination.

Section 8: Legal Responsibility

8.1 You must be at least 18 years old to sell on MyIsopods.com.

8.2 It is your responsibility to know and follow all local, state, and federal regulations regarding the sale and transport of live animals and products.

8.3 MyIsopods.com is not liable for transactions between vendors and buyers. We are a platform only and do not guarantee or insure your sales.

8.4 We reserve the right to remove any user, vendor, or listing for any reason without prior notice.
